Your Ideas

Did you have an activity, personal progress experience, service project or Young Women in Excellence event that went really well? (Of course you did, because we hear about them!) We encourage you to leave descriptions in the comments section below for all ward leaders in our stake to view. Feel free to adapt anything to the needs of your young women.

    Pinlight: 2012 Young Women’s Bulletin Board
    Ideas from Sister Barbara Thornton, YW Counselor, SANFORD Ward

    I found a great website/idea when I was searching for ideas for our 2012 Bulletin Board. It is a play off Pinterest and I thought it was fabulous. There were only a few YW that knew what Pinterest actually was, but we started last week and I think it is going to be fabulous. The link is below if you want to take a look!!     We also hang a sign in the YW room each month using a Personal Progress value as the theme. The sign is the color of the value color. We try to decorate the room in value colors and bring in some sort of value color treats to celebrate birthdays on the 2nd Sunday of each month.

    We started this month with Faith (at the beginning of course) and hung up a 8 1/2 X 11 white sign in the YW women room and have now added a thought provoking question for the YW to ponder. We are not looking for anyone to give this answer to us, it is just something for them to think about during the week. This month we used: "Who are three people in the scriptures that you think showed great faith?" We will do the same each month.

    I am always interested to hear what wards are doing with Wednesday night activities. We are having a planning meeting but would love to hear the creative/successful ideas that you have used in the past.

    I have been trying to add a calendar that I have been using for our Mutual activities every month, which has a Personal Progress theme, but I have not been able to add the template for others to use. Is there somewhere to post it?

    Will you YW leaders please share a 1-2 month line-up of mutual activities that you have done?

    We are looking for some new direction to take our program (not just fun, but fun while growing in the gospel.)
